Upgrade Details:

This brand new 70 Series came in with the goal of upgrading the basic factory audio system that came with the vehicle. The original small dash-mounted speakers left a lot to be desired—the system was seriously lacking in volume, bass, and overall clarity.

While the factory head unit did offer Apple CarPlay, the small, unresponsive screen made it less than ideal. We upgraded it to a larger, more responsive display, which not only improved visibility but also added wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto for a much smoother user experience.

This was a labour-intensive install—just the sound deadening and speaker fitment took about 1.5 days to get right. But the result was absolutely worth it: the system now delivers deep bass, clear mids, and crisp highs, with rear speakers that help create a surround sound experience.

As a bonus, the Alpine kit added USB charging ports in each door and even provided some extra storage, which is always a welcome upgrade in these vehicles.

We chose not to install an amplifier on this build, as the customer wanted to keep things simple and clean—but even without one, he was blown away by the boost in bass and the overall sound quality of the upgrade.
