The customer expressed a desire to retain the factory radio while upgrading the entire sound system.

Upgrade Details:

These new Isuzu D-Max vehicles come with a factory sound system that’s known for its flat, uninspiring audio profile—and for this customer, that just wasn’t going to cut it. As a passionate music lover, he wanted a system that could deliver loud, clean, and detailed sound, even at high volumes.

To deliver exactly that, we put together a full custom audio package. Up front, we installed 6.5-inch component speakers, which offer the kind of clarity and detail that standard 6x9s simply can’t match. The entire system was run actively through a Helix M 6 DSP, giving us the ability to tune each speaker individually and stage the sound perfectly to the front center—something that’s not possible with the factory head unit alone.

In the rear, we added Alpine Status speakers for mid-bass support and rear fill, rounding out the soundstage beautifully. We also applied sound deadening to all the doors, which made a huge difference in improving speaker clarity and reducing unwanted resonance.

Two amplifiers were neatly mounted on a custom amp rack behind the rear seat, keeping everything clean and tucked away. To top it off, we built a custom 10-inch subwoofer box from OZ Audio, fitted with a high-performance 10” AudioControl subwoofer. It delivers surprisingly deep, punchy bass, fitting neatly behind the rear seat with just minor trimming to the plastic for clearance.

The result? A system that’s tight, loud, and incredibly detailed, transforming the in-car listening experience and making this D-Max a true joy to drive.
